Priority main national directions for the construction of gas infrastructure in Macedonia will be Klechovce - Bitola with branch to Strumica depending on the point of connection in Greece or Bulgaria, and the route Skopje - Tetovo - Gostivar found Ministerial Committee that monitors the development of feasibility study the gas system in Macedonia.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Transport Dragan Simonovski today at a press conference informed the already published advertisement for selection of a company that will prepare the technical documentation at the level of basic and executive design for national line of the gas pipe-line system, presented in four packages.
The first package requires documentation for the main pipeline from Klechovce to Negotino of about a hundred kilometers, and as many kilometers will be the national pipeline from Negotino to Bitola requiring technical documentation within the second package. Through the third package the required technical documentation is for the national pipeline from junction Stip to junction Hamzali in length of about 60 km, and a fourth package provides the preparation of technical documentation from the junction Hamzali to Stojakovo (border with Greece) in length from about 50 kilometers informed Simonovski .
Interested economic operators may submit offers for the preparation of technical documentation by February 10 next year to the Ministry of Transport and Communications after which the public opening shall follow. With the most favorable bidder who shall prepare technical documentation for all four packages a Contract will be signed within a year. After completion of the projects there will be a selection of constructor of gas pipeline infrastructure for which the necessary investment is estimated of around 270 million Euros, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Transport.
Simonovski also said that the cost of route Klechovce - Bitola is estimated of 73,600,000 Euros, Stip - Gevgelija 49,280,000 Euros, and the route Skopje - Gostivar would cost 29,750,000 Euros.
The most feasible and fastest possible connection to the gas pipeline infrastructure in Macedonia explained Simonovski, is the connection of the transport gas pipeline for the transmission of Russian gas to Greece and in Greece to the constructed part of the pipeline IGI (Intercconector Greece Italy). The Ministry of Transport and Communications for the preparation of the feasibility study after the implementation of public procurement for consultant services agreement signed a Contract with a consortium comprised of companies "Prostor" from Kumanovo, Gastek BG - Sofia, "Petrol" from Ljubljana and “Energo system” from Skopje.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Transport, technical control is foreseen over the consulting services in the phase of preparing the feasibility study and other projects with the so called on-the go audit that will be conducted by the Faculty of Civil Engineering Ss. Cyril and Methodius. The time needed for preparation of feasibility study for the gas pipeline network is from nine to 12 months.
